Facebook recently launched its upcoming feature, currently in beta, called Graph Search. The new feature allows anyone to perform a search on Facebook using simple text based queries. It is a unique blend of big data and natural language processing (NLP).
With a billion users under its belly, Facebook is one of the most interesting use cases of how big data evolves with a social graph. Using natural language processing (NLP), Facebook is slowly trying to bring users to a different side of the search world. It works on a highly successful iteration development.
As in all social media marketing, deep targeting capabilities using social graph data is what makes the channel so attractive to marketers. Not only can advertisers reach a broad set of customers with messaging based on sheer volume of users, but with rich targeting capabilities, channels like Twitter can pin point relevant messages at the right time.
