Speaking as part of a TDWI webinar titled “Predictive Analytics for Accelerating Business Advantage,” Halper said the pace at which organizations are adopting predictive analytics technology is increasing. At the same time, the results of a recently completed TDWI survey of 370 analytics professionals show many have a limited view regarding the potential uses of these tools. Most view the technology as a means to drive efficiencies, predict customer behavior and identify risks. However, Halper said the true value of predictive analytics is its ability to set a business apart from its competitors.
